How to Update Innoslate Enterprise to Version 4.12.3 | Step-by-Step Guide

This guide provides instructions for updating your Innoslate Enterprise installation to version 4.12.3.

The update process depends on your current version due to architectural changes introduced in the 4.12 series (including Java 21 and Apache Tomcat 11).

Choose the Correct Path Based on Your Current Version

  1. Option 1: If you are currently on 4.12.1: You can use the automatic updater for a simple in-place update.

  2. Option 2: If you are currently on 4.11.x or earlier: There is no automatic updater available for jumping to 4.12.3. You must perform a fresh installation of 4.12.3 and use the streamlined method to preserve your existing configurations.

Option 1: Updating from 4.12.1 or 4.12.2 (Using the Updater)

  1. Download the latest 4.12.3 updater: 4.12.3 Enterprise Updater 

    1. Ensure you have Administrator privileges on the machine.

  2. Stop the Innoslate4 service (run C:\Innoslate4\utilities\stop_innoslate_service.cmd).

  3. Right-click the updater executable and select Run as administrator.

  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update.

  5. Restart the Innoslate4 service (via C:\Innoslate4\utilities\restart_innoslate_service.cmd).

  6. Verify the update by accessing Innoslate and checking the version on the bottom from the login screen.

Option 2: Updating from 4.11.x or Earlier

Since the updater is not compatible across the major 4.12 upgrade, follow the standard 4.12.3 installation process while bypassing the setup wizard to retain your existing settings.

  1. Backup your current installation (including database, settings.properties, and any custom Tomcat configurations).

  2. Download the Innoslate Enterprise 4.12.3 installer: 4.12.3 Enterprise Installer

  3. Uninstall the previous Innoslate version (recommended for a clean install).

  4. Run the 4.12.3 installer as Administrator.

  5. Proceed through the wizard until the end, then uncheck "Launch Innoslate Setup" before finishing.
