Learn About Organization-Wide Schema Import capability on Innoslate
The Organization Schema Import capability on Innoslate introduces an enhanced capability for administrators and organization owners to efficiently manage schemas across all projects within their organization. Historically, schema customization in Innoslate was applied on a per-project basis, requiring manual schema updates for each project. This feature enhances the process by enabling the import of custom schema across the entire organization, streamlining schema management and ensuring consistency.
Organization Schema Import is designed to save time and effort by allowing users to upload a single schema file in .xml or .inno format, which will automatically propagate to all projects within the organization.
Some key benefits of the Organization Schema Import include:
- Mass application of schemas across all projects within the organization, saving significant time.
- Consistency in schema structures across projects for better collaboration and reporting.
- Simplified process with intuitive UI and progress tracking during schema import.
In the following sections, we’ll explore the step-by-step functionality of the Organization Schema Import, showcasing how this feature simplifies schema management at an organizational level.
It is important to perform this action prior to making any modifications to the schema within the projects of your organization. Should any schemas have already been altered, there is a significant risk that the organization schema will not update correctly. In such cases, the affected projects will require renaming of the modified classes, labels, and relations to facilitate a successful import of the organization's schema. One effective approach to address this is to conduct the necessary changes in a separate organization before creating a new organization to import the schema. Alternatively, modifications can be executed in the Cloud, followed by importing the XML or .inno file into the organization.
Navigate to the Organization Schema Dashboard
To begin the process:
- Go to the Admin Dashboard of your organization.
- Find the "Navigate to Schema" button at the top to access the Schema Dashboard.
