Descending Bulk Attribute Overview

Apply Bulk Attribute capability in documents, compilations, and test suites to downstream child entities.

The Descending Bulk Attribute tool allows you to quickly apply an attribute change to a selected entity and all of its children in the hierarchy. This is especially useful when working with large document sets where the same attribute value needs to be applied across multiple related entities.

Accessing the Tool

  1. Choose the intended entity hierarchy.

  2. Select the "More" menu located at the top of the entity editor.

  3. Click "Descending Bulk Attribute".

Selecting an Attribute

After selecting the tool, the Bulk Attribute popup will appear.

  1. From the Attribute dropdown, choose the attribute you want to apply (e.g., Status, Priority, Owner, etc.).

  2. Depending on the attribute, a secondary dropdown may appear allowing you to select the new value.

Note: The selected workflow attribute value will only be applied to entities with eligible attribution to that state. This will depend on workflow permissions or inclusion of This ensures that workflow rules are respected.

Applying the Change

Once you have selected your attribute and value:

  1. Click Apply.

  2. The change will be applied to the selected entity and all of its children.

Verify the Change

Once users click "Apply" the attribute field for the respective entities will reflect the bulk attribute selection as can be seen in the figure below.
