This feature allows users to search for specific text strings within a document and replace them with desired content.
1. The find and replace feature on Innoslate allows users to quickly modify their documentation on various Innoslate user interfaces that allow the feature. This feature is available in the More section of entities and can be accessed in entity view, documents view, and other views that apply to entities.
With the More dropdown open, select the option labeled Find and Replace and the features window popup will appear.
2. From there, you can specify which entity attribute(s) the user desires the search to occur in, what string of text to find, and what string of text to replace the desired text with.
As seen in this sample problem, we are focusing in the "Description" attribute of the selected entity, while asking the feature to find text string "LIDR" and replace the string with the correct string of text "LIDAR". This feature allows us to automatically fix errors in the documentation, rather than manually creating the fix in the document.
3. After clicking "Next", the feature prompts the user with a preview of the results found in the document using the Find and Replace engine on Innoslate. Users can see that the feature highlights the requested find of errors, while locating where the string occurs.
Additionally, there are some default checkmarks such as "Check All", "Show Editable Only", and "Only Save Visible". These options can be toggled to customize the user experience and expectation.
